How we’re making a difference

Smiling girl from Uganda

Protecting sight

We work in low and middle income countries to treat and prevent eye conditions such as cataracts, trachoma and refractive error.
How we protect sight

An eye health worker examines a woman's eyes for signs of trachoma.

Fighting disease

We help to fight five debilitiating diseases, known as neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), that affect more than a billion people worldwide.

Disability rights

We campaign to make sure people with visual impairments or other disabilities can participate equally in society without fear of discrimination.
More about disability rights

We work in more than 30 countries

We prevent avoidable blindness in some of the world’s poorest areas by partnering with local communities, governments and other groups.

As part of our work in these countries, we distribute treatments to protect against disease, carry out operations and eye examinations, strengthen health systems and advocate for people with disabilities.

Our main offices are in the UK, Ireland, Italy, the US and the UAE, and we also have regional offices in Senegal, Kenya and India.
