Over 100 people donned their hiking boots and took part in a four mile sponsored walk around the picturesque parkland of Blenheim Palace in Oxford on 1 April 2007. The special 30th Anniversary Walk, organised by the Oxford Rotary Club, raised £6,380.75, superceding last year's total of £6,250.

The 31st Annual Blenheim Palace Walk is set to take place on 30 March 2008 from 10:00am. The rotary club hopes to reach a target of £10,000, enough to protect 2,000 African villages from river blindness.

River blindness

River blindness is caused by a worm that breeds in fast-flowing rivers. It is a major cause of blindness in west and central Africa. Sightsavers is combating it with the drug Mectizan®.
