Amina, at home after her operation 20 years of pain

Amina says she suffered for about 20 years with pain in her eyes. The trachoma infections led to trichiasis. "I had so much pain," Aminia explained, "and many tears when coming out of the darkness."

Mudashiru is six years old and has had trachoma for around four years. When his parents saw his eyelashes turning inwards, they began to cut them off. They have cut them five times since this happened. His father also has trichiasis.
