1. How do I register to use I'm a Sightsaver?
Along the top of each page you will see a Join now button. When you click on this it will take you through to a simple form and then give you details of how to set up your page. You can also click here to register.
2. How do I sponsor my friends?
You can sponsor your friends through their online fundraising page which can be found within their links section of their event. This may be a Just Giving page or something similar. You can also donate direct to Sightsavers by clicking on the; donate now button on the top right of each page. When you donate this way there is an area where you can explain what the donation is for, so don’t forget to mention your friends name and the name of the event. Your friend may also be collecting donations offline with sponsorship forms, check their fundraising page to see how they would like you to sponsor them.
3. How can I make a comment to a fundraising activity?
If you wish to make a comment to a fundraisers page you will need to register as a member. Click here to register now.
4. Why should I use I’m a Sightsaver rather than other online fundraising services?
I’m a Sightsaver is to be used alongside other fundraising services such as Just Giving and Virgin Money giving and not instead of. I’m a Sightsaver is a community area where supporters can advertise their events, find out about other events that are going on, join in and even sponsor your event.
5. What kind of support would Sightsavers offer me if I decide to fundraise?
Once you register as a fundraiser you can request a fundraising pack with lots of hints and tips for fundraising and specific advice for your type of event. We have a range of fundraising materials available from posters, money boxes, t-shirts, running vests, baseball caps. We also have a resources area on the website which has further advice. We can also provide further support if required, please contact us to discuss further.
6. What kind of things can I do to raise money for Sightsavers?
Anything, as long as it is legal and safe! Some of the most popular include;
Birthday collections, swear boxes, wedding anniversaries, bingo evenings, coffee mornings, pub quizzes, dances, sponsored swims, charity raffles, marathons, book sales, plant sales, bring and buy, cake sales, sponsored walks, running, cycling, photography exhibitions, the list is endless! Basically whatever your talent is you can use it to fundraise for Sightsavers.
7. Can I get involved with Sightsavers in my local area?
You can search within the upcoming events area of the website for any events in your local area and join in.
8. What else can I do apart from fundraising?
There are lots of different ways that you can support Sightsavers, from volunteering, leaving a legacy or simply shopping visit our get involved section on our main website.
