Latest fundraising tip...
Our latest fundraising tip comes from Lance Bellers who recently ran the London Marathon for Sightsavers:
'I organised a raffle to help my fundraising for the London marathon. I contacted local businesses and they were happy to donate some good prizes - tickets for a concert, a day at the cricket and an 'open kitchen' experience where you learn to cook with a chef at a top restaurant.
I found that the raffle really helped boost my total - you sometimes can't really expect more casual acquaintances to sponsor you £20 but everyone is happy to buy a few raffle tickets. I also found that having the variety of prizes, ie music, sport and food, really paid dividends as it meant at least one was attractive to potential supporters. It was fun too, the lady at our local corner shop made the draw and the winners were delighted!'
