The 5th Martin Currie Rob Roy Challenge is taking place on 19 June 2010 and registration for teams is now open! We are delighted that Sightsavers is once again set to benefit from this exciting fundraising event which raised £60,000 to support our work in 2009. All we need now are eager individuals with a sense of fun to take part!

If you would like to be part of a truly amazing occasion, covering 55 miles of the spectacular Rob Roy Way in Scotland, then now is the time to enter by visiting the Rob Roy Challenge website.

Over the course of an action packed day teams will walk or run 16 miles from Drymen, near Loch Lomond, to Callander, where they will switch to bikes for a 39 mile cycle to Kenmore. On the way the teams can enjoy the stunning scenery on one of Scotland’s finest long distance routes, and at the end, a sumptuous feast and party on the banks of Loch Tay will round off an unforgettable weekend! If you're tempted take a look at the DVD from last year’s event.

Whether this is your first event or you are a seasoned competitor the Rob Roy Challenge
has something for everyone. Take your time and have some fun along the way, or get
stuck in and compete for a prize! Whatever your reason for taking part, one thing is for
sure you’ll be proud of what you accomplish.

Registration costs £110 and for that you'll get a whole host of stuff including a full registration pack and route map, regular email newsletters with useful tips, information and support, a goodie bag, an electronic timing device, refreshments and services at checkpoints and water stops, medical support and back up on the event, a special feast, entertainment on Saturday and even breakfast before departure on Sunday. First class event organisation is guaranteed!

Once registered each team member is asked to raise a minimum of £400 each, or £1,600 per four-person team.

If you’d like to get involved in this fun-filled weekend but don’t feel up to the 55 mile challenge, we are also seeking volunteer marshals to help with the smooth running of the event.
