Annual RAG Conference 2010

Sightsavers staff were thrilled to attend the annual student RAG (Raise and Give) conference in Canterbury recently. The event was hosted by the University of Kent and students from all over the UK attended to find out about the work of a range of charities.

Gemma and Jo from Sightsavers provided Alex Brown (Bath University) and Dan Webster (Kidscan) with a blindfold for a spontaneous and educational leading activity around the halls and gardens to raise awareness of the issue of avoidable blindness (pictured above).

Students also took the opportunity of the conference to sign up to take part in ‘RAIDS’ (street collections) to raise money for Sightsavers over the next few months. If you are a student and you’d like to raise some money for our inspiring work please get in touch with Jo Mitchell on jmitchell@sightsavers.org or 01444 446727.
