Programme quality improvement

Ensuring high quality programmes is one of Sightsavers’ key strategic objectives.

To achieve this aim, we have developed four closely connected frameworks to address quality improvement, monitoring and evaluation, technical support and learning.

You can read more about these frameworks in the pages below.

Quality improvement framework

Sightsavers has developed a set of minimum standards, which are applied to all our programmes across the complete programme life cycle; from design, right through implementation to scale up, exit or redesign.

Sightsavers adaptive monitoring and evaluation system

SAME is our new programme monitoring and evaluation system, which helps us monitor our progress, identify risks and plan for improvement.

Technical assistance

Sightsavers has a pool of in-house technical experts and also works closely with professional bodies to provide technical support to programmes.

Learning

Learning and innovation are essential in order to improve the quality of what we do. We engage in research and development activities, and collate our learning and best practice into a series of publications and toolkits.
