The sight I would most like to see is the pyramids in Egypt!

"My name is Manoj and I live in India. I was born with cataract in both my eyes, and lost my sight completely when I was seven. (You can read more about cataract here.) I had my eyes tested at a special camp which was very lucky, otherwise I wouldn’t have known what was wrong, or that I could get help.

I had to visit Sankara Hospital twice to have each of my eyes operated on. My father was very anxious, waiting in the corridor for me to wake up from my second operation.

I could see out of both eyes!

The doctors said I was very well behaved, and I sat still whilst my bandage came off. I had some eye drops and my sight was tested – I could see out of both eyes!

Before my first operation I would just listen to lessons in school, and sat on my own during playtime. Now I can join in and play with my friends and family!
