Elections planned for 2011 have caused increasing political tensions between rival groups.
There has been severe flooding in all areas, disrupting the distribution of Mectizan®. The floods have also meant an increased presence of the black fly that spreads river blindness.
Highlights from our projects
- A series of cross border meetings took place regarding Mectizan® coverage at the border with Togo. An action plan was agreed for the next 12 months.
- There have also been a number of field visits from Sighstavers’ staff to provide technical support to the project workers.
