An important way of reaching those in need is by addressing the desperate shortage of eye care workers in the countries where we work. For example it is estimated that the world is short of over four million health professionals, and unsurprisingly the shortfall is in the poorest and most under developed countries.

Neglected tropical diseases
Neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) are a group of 17 parasitic and bacterial infections that affect over one billion of the world’s poorest people.
Training eye care workers
We focus on building up the skills of mid-level eye care workers, such as eye nurses, so they can conduct minor operations as well as provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients.
