Kolkata Urban Comprehensive Eye Care Programme: end-of-term evaluation

This project was developed to reduce avoidable blindness in Kolkata, especially among vulnerable women and children living in urban slum areas.

The purpose of the evaluation was to understand the effectiveness of the project and its approach in reducing avoidable blindness in the project catchment area, specifically as a result of cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and uncorrected refractive error. It also aimed to understand how the project was able to incorporate elements relating to urban health and address the challenges in an urban setting. Publication date: June 2015
