UNITED programme: mid-term evaluation

The goal of the Northern Nigeria Integrated NTDs Control (UNITED) programme is to reduce the prevalence and interrupt the transmission of seven neglected tropical diseases that can be treated with preventive chemotherapy.

The project, which is being implemented in Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Niger and Zamfara, aims to strengthen the health system including medication supply chain management to deliver medication to those in need.

This evaluation assesses the programme performance against milestones and other planned activities to see if objectives are being met. It also explores gaps in implementation and ensure corrective measures are put in place. It seeks to generate learning for DFID, Sightsavers, consortium members, government and other stakeholders, and assess the benefits to the overall health system. Publication date: February 2016.
