Donating from the US

Sightsavers International was honoured to receive the 2002 Nathan Davis International Award in Medicine and Public Health, which was awarded by the American Medical Association at a ceremony in Chicago in June 2002. This was the first time that a non-US organization has received this prestigious award and it reflected the judges' recognition of our work providing vital eye care services in some of the poorest communities around the world.

For over 50 years, Sightsavers International has been working with local partners to combat blindness in developing countries and support people who are blind. During this time, we have helped restore sight to more than five million people and treat over 100 million for potentially blinding conditions. Through partners, we support people who are blind, providing education, counseling and training.

Please note that as we are not registered medical practitioners and do not directly deliver eye care in the countries in which we work, but work with local partners, we are not able to respond to any questions regarding medical issues. Please contact your health service provider for medical advice.
