Sightsavers raffle rules

1. Participation in this raffle costs £2 per raffle ticket.

2. This raffle is open to residents of mainland Great Britain (this excludes Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and Channel Islands).

3. No tickets can be sold to, on behalf of, or for a person under the age of 16 years.

4. If a ticket is sold unknowingly to, on behalf of, or for a person under the age of 16 they will be exempt from the raffle and will forfeit their prize.

5. Trustees and employees of Sightsavers, and members of their households, are ineligible to enter this raffle. 

6. Any tickets bought in the name of Sightsavers trustees, employees or members of their households will be rejected from the draw and considered as donations to Sightsavers.

7. Monies raised by this raffle will support the general work of Sightsavers, Registered Charity Numbers 207544 and SC038110.

8. Payment for participation in the raffle can be made by cheque payable to Sightsavers Trading Limited, or by credit/debit card.

9. We cannot accept CAF payments for raffle tickets and all CAF payments will be treated as donations.

10. Raffle tickets will be entered into the draw when the whole payment is received.

11. Sightsavers accepts no responsibility for raffle tickets which are lost, damaged, illegible or from which the prize-winner cannot be identified, or for any technical failure or event which may cause the competition to be disrupted or corrupted.

12. Any ticket entries received after Friday 14 October 2010 will be considered as donations to Sightsavers.

13. The draw will take place on Wednesday 20th October March 2010.

14. Three raffle tickets will be drawn randomly.

15. The first ticket number drawn will win the top prize of £5,000

16. The second ticket number drawn will receive £2,000.

17. The third ticket number drawn will receive £1,000.

18. The result of the raffle draw is final. No correspondence will be entered into.

19. Winners will be notified by post, email or telephone no later than two weeks after the draw date. 

20. A list of winners will also be published at www.sightsavers.org.uk/raffle two weeks after the draw date.

21. Please keep the ticket number as proof of purchase.

22. Where Sightsavers is unable to contact a prize-winner so that a prize remains unclaimed for six months following Sightsavers’ first attempt to notify the prize-winner, Sightsavers may apply the prize as it sees fit, including by re-offering the prize in future raffles.

23. All winners are required to co-operate with Sightsavers’ right to publish their win as and where deemed appropriate.

24. Sightsavers raffle is run externally by Documetric Limited who are registered with the Gambling Commission to operate this raffle, licence number 000-020674-N-302813-001. This licence is issued under Part 5 of the Gambling Act 2005, and is valid from 16 April 2009.

27. This raffle is externally managed on behalf of Sightsavers by Documetric Limited. 

28. Requests for additional raffle tickets or requests to be removed from future raffle mailings should be addressed to Freepost RSHX-CUBR-EJYK, Sightsavers raffle, Lowton Way, Hellaby, ROTHERHAM, S66 8RY or by calling 01444 446710 (Mon-Friday 8am – 5pm).

29. In the event of an error, howsoever caused, whether a printing error or otherwise and whether obvious or otherwise, which affects the competition in any way, the organisers reserve the right to administer the game as though the error had not occurred. Where the organisers deem it appropriate and/or feasible Sightsavers will notify entrants of the error.

30. Names of winners and results of the raffle will be available on receipt of a email request 

31. Failure to comply with any of these rules may result in the disqualification of the entry. 

32. Organisers reserve the right to disqualify any entry at their absolute discretion.
