Harold and Hilda Finch's Legacy

One couple whose kindness will never be forgotten are Harold and Hilda Finch. This elderly couple were lifelong supporters of our work and they decided they wanted to continue helping us by including a gift to Sightsavers in their Will.

Harold died in April 2010 and left everything to Hilda. When Hilda died on Christmas Eve in the same year, their estate was shared between the charities they had named.

Their friend John Beasley said, “Harold and Hilda are a wonderful example of people who cared about others – in fact, a huge number of people they have never met will benefit from this act of generosity.”

They are two of our unsung heroes but the gift in their Wills will enable us to carry on with the life-changing work we do around the world.

Remember us in your will

Legacies make up one fifth of Sightsavers’ funding each year. This means that one in every five people we reach in developing countries has a life-changing opportunity thanks to someone thinking of us when writing their Will.
