Where your money goes

There are 39 million blind people in the world and 80% of blindness can be prevented or cured.

Sightsavers works with partners in more than 30 countries in Africa, Asia and the Caribbean to help restore sight, prevent blindness and promote equality for people who are irreversibly blind.

It costs as little as:

  • 35 pence to protect a family from river blindness for a year.
  • £8 for a trachoma operation, to stop someone from going blind.
  • £28 for an adult cataract operation to give someone their sight back.
