Help protect communities from trachoma

This Easter, your donation can help reach families living in remote communities still affected by trachoma.

With your support, local health workers, volunteers and partners can deliver vital antibiotics and hygiene education to families living in remote communities where trachoma is still a threat. Your generosity helps ensure no community is left behind.

Prevention starts in the community

Zita, a community health worker in Zambia, travels from community to community teaching people about the importance of facial washing and mass drug administration in stopping trachoma from spreading.

When left untreated, repeated trachoma infections can lead to advanced trachoma, known as trichiasis. This condition makes the eyelid tight and pulls the eyelashes inwards, so they scratch against the eyeball.

Together, we can support dedicated healthcare workers like Zita to protect more communities from this painful but preventable disease.

Donate this Easter to help protect more communities from the pain of trachoma.

If people do not receive mass drug administration, there will be many blind people. People will fail to do their daily chores.

DONATE

Our Easter fundraiser will run from 30 March to 6 April 2026. During this time, we’ll be adding up online donations to our spring appeal and displaying the total on this page. Our goal is to raise £20,000, which is equivalent to the cost of providing treatment to over 277 communities at risk of or with trachoma, but all donations will be used to support our life-changing work wherever the need is greatest.

One-off donations are included at their face value (eg £10 donation = £10 displayed on this page), and regular gifts are included as the value of 12 months’ donations (eg £5 donation a month = £60 displayed on this page). The totaliser does not include Gift Aid. We will update the information in the totaliser once a day while the fundraiser is running, to give us time to validate donations. Thank you.
