Sightsavers Ireland to co-host free youth action event in Dublin

October 2026

As part of the Global Solidarity Hub, Sightsavers Ireland is co-hosting a free event for young people interested in global citizenship and international development.

The event ‘Youth for Action’ will bring together people aged 18-30 from across Ireland to explore global challenges, share perspectives and discover how they can contribute to positive change.

Throughout the day, attendees will hear from young leaders, activists and changemakers. They can also take part in interactive workshops about climate justice, human rights, disability inclusion, equality and global solidarity.

All young people interested in activism, campaigning or global issues are invited to join the event. Lunch will be provided, and attendees can reclaim their travel expenses if they’re travelling from outside Dublin. Advance registration is required to attend.

The event has been designed with accessibility and inclusion in mind, including Irish Sign Language (ISL) interpretation, a dedicated sensory/quiet room and opportunities to participate in different ways. Additional access support or dietary requirements can be requested at registration.

Youth for Action is organised by the Global Solidarity Hub, a collaboration between Sightsavers Ireland, GOAL and Trócaire, in partnership with Black and Irish. The event is supported by Dóchas, the EU Presidency Citizen Engagement Sub-Grant, and Irish Aid.
