Global Trachoma Mapping Project (GTMP): end-of-project evaluation

The aim of the GTMP was to map trachoma, through standardised baseline prevalence surveys, across all suspected endemic districts globally by 2015.

Over three years, the GTMP has delivered more than half of all the trachoma surveys that have ever been conducted (56 per cent). With mapping activity recently completed, this executive summary of the end-of-project evaluation aims to establish the extent to which the project has successfully mapped trachoma in the project countries in an efficient, cost-effective manner.

It also aims to explore the implications and value generated by project activity, and to identify any key lessons learned that could be used to plan other disease mapping programmes. Publication date: March 2016.
