The 2.6 Challenge

Support Sightsavers and join the rest of the UK in the 2.6 challenge.

A marathon runner with Sightsavers staff.

From Sunday 26 April, join thousands of people across the UK for one of the nation’s biggest fundraising events of the year – The 2.6 Challenge. From walking, running or cycling 2.6 miles, take part in an activity based around the numbers 2.6 or 26 and help raise money for Sightsavers.

What is the 2.6 challenge?

The 2.6 Challenge will launch on Sunday 26 April – what should have been the date of the 40th London Marathon, the world’s biggest one-day annual fundraising event.

We’re asking you to take part in an activity of your choice based around the numbers 2.6 or 26 and fundraise or donate to support our work.

All you need to do to take part is choose your activity and sign up or donate through the website.

What can I do?

There are a number of activities you can take part in, from running 2.6 miles to doing 26 star jumps. Here are a few suggestions to get you going:

  • Draw 26 rainbows
  • Hold a plank pose for 2.6 minutes
  • Bake and decorate 26 fairy cakes
  • Sponsored silence for 2.6 minutes – or 2.6 hours if you’re brave!
  • Hold a yoga pose for 26 minutes
  • Do 260 step-ups
  • Host a virtual dinner party with 26 pals

The only limit is your imagination – we can’t wait to see what you come up with!

How do I sign up?

  2. Visit the website to register your challenge or make a donation
