Social media toolkit:
Promise in Peril

The promise to leave no one behind is in peril. Will you spread our message to world leaders and sign our petition calling on them to take action?

We need a rescue plan to make sure people with disabilities are not left behind from vital progress.

When the United Nations launched the global Sustainable Development Goals (2015-2030), it promised to ‘leave no one behind’. But right now, that promise is in peril.  92% of all the SDGs are linked to human rights – and they can only be achieved if they’re achieved for everyone.

How to get involved

The call for equity is not a polite request.  We demand that people with disabilities have an equal say in the processes that affect their lives. Join our call for governments to uphold disability rights and #LeaveNoOneBehind

I’ve signed @Sightsavers’ petition to make sure world leaders do not leave people with disabilities behind from vital progress at the #SDGSummit in September. Will you join our rescue mission?

Accessibility tips

1. Use Twitter’s descriptive text functionality to describe images for people who are visually impaired.

2. Keep links in full rather than scrambling them with a link shortener, so users know what they are clicking on.

3. If using video content with audio, add subtitles so the video can be understood without sound.
